APPLE IS REOPENING 25 US STORES THIS WEEK

Apple has announced that as of May 17, 99 of its stores around the world will reopen, including over 25 locations in the US. In a statement to 9to5Mac, the tech company explained what this will look like for consumers.

Social distancing now extends from the sales floor to back of house employee areas. All products submitted to the Genius Bar by customers are subject to a thorough cleaning at the time of intake and customer return. The company’s two-meter social distancing requirement will be implemented around the US, regardless of local guidelines, and full-time janitorial staff will clean every hour.

All 25 locations will offer Apple Pickup, where customers can buy online and select a time to pick up their product at the store. Meanwhile, Genius Bar appointments are available by reservation.

At the beginning of May, Apple CEO, Tim Cook announced that select stores would gradually open, depending on the situation in each city. Retail locations in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Oklahoma, and Washingtonare the first to reopen.
