The effects of COVID-19 have had major impact on a lot of things going on in our day to day life. And here is yet another event to be postponed due to that.
Apparently, the induction of Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Tamika Catchings, and a number of coaches and executives could be delayed into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
This is to be the most significant induction since Michael Jordan was admitted as the class of 2009 – but will not go as planned. CEO John Doleva told the Boston Globe that the Hall will decide this week if the ceremony will still take place over the last weekend in August or no.
The hall is located close to New York City which is one the the global epicentres of the coronavirus. The celebration could be delayed to a later date in October or in the spring of 2021 in hopes to avoid the risk of infection.
