The covid19 has disadvantaged many businesses and brands. The fashion industry has altogether transformed completely into a digital runway due to the pandemic.

A statement has been issued by Fédération de la Haute couture et de la Mode, that the Paris fashion week will be held in September for the women spring/summer 2020 shows. The shows will take place between September 28 and October 6. The coronavirus pandemic has halted many fashion shows in 2020. But the Paris fashion week will take place alongside the specially created online platform.

Due to COVID19, many businesses and factories were shut down during the lockdown, which has severely affected the finances all over the world.

Despite opening many factories and brands, a lot of businesses are struggling with limited finances and canceled orders. The covid19 has halted the fashion industry’s supply chain.

The Paris Fashion Week will be complemented by a mix of virtual, physical, and digital events. The FHCM also delivered the good news that there will also be an online platform for the International editors, and bloggers who can not travel to Paris due to covid19 in September 2020.

The FHCM informed in its press release that they will follow all the recommendations of the public authorities, but it’s still not clear how the fashion show will actually look like.

The coronavirus pandemic has led many fashion brands to adopt new and creative ways to showcase their collection. The London staged an online-only event earlier this year. Other brands have also embraced the digital way of showcasing their collection. Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of Dior also told in a conference call that they will stage a new live show with no audience on July 22.

After many months in quarantine, the fashion industry has decided to make a smart comeback by digital showcasing of their collection.

Ralph Toledano, the president of FHCM told vogue that, ‘digital is clearly part of the shape of fashion to come and we will take it as an opportunity for innovation to complement tradition’.

“Everybody can decide their own message. The advantage is that in the digital world, you are completely free. You find your way of expression. We said to everybody, ‘You have from one minute to 15 minutes, and you decide what you want to show,’” Carlo Capasa, the president of the Camera Della Moda, told Vogue.

Gucci has also confirmed to premiere its men’s and women’s resort 2021 collection in the form of a digital fashion show. 

Michele announced that the house will produce only two coed shows one in the fall and one in the spring. Instead of five seasonal runways a year. 

It is a challenging time for many Fashion brands to showcase their collection. Meanwhile, the Paris Fashion Week will take place hopefully with the recommendations of the Public authorities.
