Based in Portland.

London-based hotel group Ennismore has opened the doors to its first location on the west coast of the United States with a new Hoxton Hotel outpost in Portland, Oregon. The new hotel features a modernist-influenced interior similar to its other locations — currently in London, Amsterdam, Paris and New York — and was designed by Ennismore’s in-house studio, taking inspiration from the West Coast modernism movement of the 1960s.

Other features of the space reference its local area, with Portland-based artists and creatives invited to collaborate. This includes original artwork chosen by the Upfor Gallery, ceramics produced by Clay Factor and in-room bookshelves curated by 119 Hox Friends, a Portland group who chose their favorite books and neighborhood tips. Announcing these collaborations, Ennismore explained that it was “connecting guests with locals through Portland residents who embody the fabric of the neighbourhood.”

The Portland hotel also features two Mexican restaurants and a cocktail lounge, designed in collaboration with UK-based studio Fettle Design. The restaurants include a ground-floor La Neta and a rooftop taqueria named Tope.

The Hoxton Hotel in Portland is open now, and Ennismore is planning more North American openings in Los Angeles and Chicago in the near future.
