POP SMOKE'S STREAMS REPORTEDLY INCREASED BY 392% FOLLOWING HIS DEATH
Ever since news broke of Pop Smoke‘s passing, the rapper’s streams went up 392 percent, Billboard reports. The day Pop Smoke passed away, his streams jumped from 5 million to 24.7 million, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. In particular, streams for the hit song “Dior” increased by 467 percent, going from 909,000 to 5.2 million. The song with the highest increase, however, is “Better Have Your Gun,” with a 783 percent spike. The rapper’s digital sales saw a massive increase, too. On February 19, digital downloads for Pop Smoke’s songs jumped by 984 percent, while album sales increased by 12,179 percent. On February 19, the Brooklyn rapper was shot and killed in his Hollywood Hills residence. He was only 20 years old.
