Q&A WITH: KREPT & KONAN

MUSIC, RESTAURANT, TV SHOW. HOW DO YOU MANAGE ALL THAT?

Konan: I like to keep it busy man. I have to do something out of my life. I feel that’s my purpose and I follow it. I don’t know what else I’d be doing in my life. You gotta strive for something and be better every day.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR NEW ALBUM?

Konan: Litness. No, I’m joking. A journey. We tried a few things different this time and with our mindset that we’re in right now and everything that happened you know, we’re just using it as a therapy.

WHEN DID YOU START WORKING ON THE ALBUM?

Krept: We started to work on it seriously last year, the end of last year. We were really going hard in the studio and tried to get it done. A lot has happened in our lived so we put that in album. This album can tell how we’re actually feeling, where are we in life, what’s our mindset, stuff we’ve been going through.

Konan: We’ve been working on the album some time now but the end of the last year we were really like “we need to get this done”.

DO YOU EVER ARGUE IN THE PROCESS?

Krept: (laughs) We’re good.

FOR HOW LONG WERE YOU WORKING ON ‘THE RAP GAME’ BEFORE APPEARING ON SCREENS?

Konan: We got a request to work on The Rap Game about two years ago. Helping other artists is something we have passion to do all the time. TALK US THROUGH THE JOURNEY OF OPENING ‘CREPES & CONES’ RESTAURANTKonan: Getting in the restaurant game is crazy(yyy)! We should have done a TV Show on that.Krept: There is so much stuff going on every single day, stuff behind the scenes, stuff with star, it’s mad! If we’d have done show on this, you’d definitely watch every single day (laughs). It’s a crazy experience but you learn a lot. People say that’s the hardest industry to get into. I used to think nothing is harder than a music industry. It changed my mind. You’re dealing with people every single day, customers, staff,… It’s mad. If one person dines’t make it, I mean, can’t come to work, everything else slows down a lot, it’s mad. WHO’S THE BETTER COOK?

Konan: Krept’s the better cook, I have to start with cooking lesson. I’ll then soon catch up. Ramsey level, you get me!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

Konan: I got drippier. I don’t know if you know what that means and even if you know there might be someone that doesn’t know. So basically I got saucier. You know. I became the sauceror.

Krept: Sometimes I look back at some fits I was wearing and am like “so this was in then?”. It looked mad you know. There’s always some stage in life and fashion that’s in. Leather trousers on a stage.

Konan: And leather tops!

Krept: It’s crazy. I feel like when you get older, you just get more realistic, wearing fitted clothes, it’s not about designers. A lot of people think if you’re wearing designer that that’s it but it’s not. It’s about having a style. How you combine those things.
